Upgrade Ground Check Motor

The return hose of this tool (fig. 1) easily bends. Even stowing of the tool without bending is difficult. When performing a RAT test with a bended return hose it is possible to get high back pressure in the return line. Too high a back pressure can result in damaging the shaft seal of the motor.

If not noticed in time and the motor is still on the RAT, the phosphate ester oil can affect the seal of the RAT gearbox, which can cause serious damage. When connecting the ground check motor to the hydraulic power unit, engineers have to pull the hoses over the concrete of the hangar floor or ramp.

The stainless steel wire on these hoses will be damaged and can injure the hands of the engineers.

To solve these problems many customers requested Hycom to upgrade this tool to their standard HRT01 (fig. 2).

The upgrade contains:
•new hydraulic pressure and return hose
•drain installed on hydraulic motor housing
•leak test on all components
•efficiency check of hydraulic motor
•new toolbox
•certification of the tool.

Trade-in of Flow Control Test Kit

Main problem with this tool (fig. 3) is that it works on batteries. Often it will be the case that the battery is flat. The many different power sources worldwide ask for separate adapters.
The high pressure gauge is mounted in het return line, which

means that during the test the engineers cannot check whether the tool is pressurized or not.
When performing the RAT test on the single aisle, tool AGE11212 (check out unit) is also required, which means that one engineer needs to operate the flow control test kit while another checks the read out on the AGE11212.

Hycom offers a part exchange programme on the flow control test kit. The customer will get the Hycom tool HFK02 (fig.4) which includes the flow control test kit and check out unit.

HRK01

HRK01 is the order code for the complete test kit consisting of HFK02 and HRT01.
